Gregory X, Pope

The Pope Gregory X was born in 1210 named Theobald Visconti in Piacenza, Italy. Elected Pope in 1271. At a young age, he was recognized for his virtue and love of biblical studies, especially in the canon law. He had a love for the Holy places and was devoted to peace. While in Paris he was associated with the intellectuals and was a friend of the Franciscans, and had a close relationship with St. Bonaventure.
