The name Immanuel, or “God with us”, is not a name that any of us are unfamiliar with
the story of Jonah. I am truly in awe of this amazing example of God’s concern for all people who are lost and His heart of mercy. The story is also quite the humorous comparison of the heart of man and how dark and judgemental we all can be towards those who live a life of moral depravity. If we aren’t careful to keep our hearts in check, much like Jonah, we can find ourselves wanting to die before we
the idea that everything belongs to God. This idea is not new to most of us and it is stated plainly for all by King David in his Psalms. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on”
