“Holy Monday”- Holy Week the week leading to Easter

| Pastors Holy Week Message: “Holy Monday” |
| Yesterday many of us were at church and we celebrated Palm Sunday, or, the first day of Passion Week. It was in itself the beginning of Passion Week, the days up to Friday, the sacrificial death of Jesus, and three days later, Sunday, His resurrection. On Sunday we read of our Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem, receiving worship as the humble King, and His identity as the Son of David. It’s the next day, Monday, and He has returned to the Temple in Jerusalem where He taught; “Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?” 12 “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” 14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.” Something is happening here… The nature of the Lord’s public message becomes more intense. The chasm between Jesus and the religious leaders becomes clearly evident, that it is deep and wide. It is clear that the life of Jesus, and these Holy Week events, are orchestrated by Jesus, He is not a victim. This is, in fact, the time that He had foretold… “His Hour”. This is that hour, “Holy Week”. This is Holy Monday… – Pastor Larry Enriquez |
